Based on primary ve secondary sources, a key purpose of this research ve artırmak develop our understanding on Yaratıcı göç experiences of Afghans arriving in Turkey. The report seeks artırmak identify Yaratıcı key drivers behind Yaratıcı increasing number of arrivals, while examining Yaratıcı factors influencing their shortartırmak long-term intentions, such as decisions artırmak either stay in Turkey or continue onward movement. The study further elaborates on Yaratıcı vericilerle conditions of Afghans in Turkey, focusing on Yaratıcı policy framework yaşam shapes Yaratıcı legal ve socio-economic conditions, ve highlighting vulnerabilities ve protection challenges they encounter. 

The research has progressed in three phases. The first phase started with desk research: collecting and analysing the relevant literature, legal and policy documents, policy briefs and reports. After preparation of data collection tools, the second phase mainly involved conducting fieldwork in six provinces (Van, Erzurum, Adana, Konya, Izmir and Istanbul). In each location, the research team collected quantitative and qualitative data simultaneously by conducting surveys, in-depth interviews (IDIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs) with Afghan refugees and migrants, as well as key informant interviews with officials from relevant provincial institutions, and representatives from international agencies and NGOs. The third phase was the analysis of data, ongoing validation of findings through expert interviews, and the drafting of this report.  

In total, the research team conducted 341 surveys, 27 IDIs, 9 FGDs (69 participants), and 28 key informant interviews from November 2019 to January 2020.  

DISSEMINATION 

To disseminate the research findings and foster meaningful dialogue, a report launch webinar has been organized. The webinar will bring together policymakers, academics, representatives from international agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders interested in migration issues. During the webinar, the research team presented their findings, highlighted the implications for policy and practice.
