Istanbul Hosts Final Leg of Transformative Modular Training on Gender Data and Statistics
The concluding session of the transformative Modular Training Series on Gender Data and Statistics, a key component of the “Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality” project, was held in Istanbul from January 24-27. Within the scope of the “Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality” project implemented by UN Women with the financial support of the European also unfolded in Ankara and Adana, marking a significant stride towards gender equality in Türkiye.
Participants emerged from the series equipped to navigate and leverage gender data, articulate gender equality concerns, and engage with public institutions for data access. This empowerment is poised to fuel ongoing advocacy and policy dialogue in Türkiye, fostering a robust and sustainable push towards gender equality.
The series sets the stage for forthcoming endeavors aimed at elevating gender equality consciousness and catalyzing tangible projects. Highlights include a hackathon in Istanbul, encouraging innovative solutions to gender bias and disparities, and a collaborative event in Ankara designed to facilitate the exchange of experiences and strategies. Moreover, a specialized training for media professionals will seek to instill a gender-sensitive narrative in media practices, promoting inclusivity and awareness.
Through these meticulously designed activities, the program aspires to nurture a data-driven approach to gender equality, amplifying the impact and reach of its participants’ efforts.
