Closing Joint Event of Capacity Development and Technical Support Programme on Gender Data

We held the closing event of the ‘Capacity Building and Technical Assistance Program on Gender Equality‘, one of the most important components of the ‘Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality‘ Project, funded by the European Union and implemented by UN Women Turkey, for evidence-based advocacy in Ankara. Within the scope of this project, which we carried out in partnership with the Association for Monitoring Gender Equality (CEİD) and Dissensus Research, a wide range of events from training to mentoring support, hackathons to digital story workshops were organized.

Each activity aimed to increase the knowledge and skills of the participants and to make concrete contributions to the struggle for gender equality. Our closing event, ‘Feminist Approaches to Gender Data and Statistics’, included a two-session panel as well as a Participants Forum and Digital Storytelling Workshop Presentation

In the participants’ forum, individuals who participated in different events of the program shared their experiences and achievements. This forum provided a platform for participants to express themselves and talk about how their work in gender data has been transformed

Making a Difference in Capacity Development in Gender Data Literacy, Data Analysis and Data-Driven Advocacy

This panel was a platform that aims to contribute to the struggle for gender equality. The program aimed to increase the effectiveness of education and training activities on gender and to produce more effective solutions by bringing together academic knowledge from different disciplines and advocacy knowledge in the field. During the event, future directions for more effective programs on gender data literacy, data analysis and data-driven advocacy were discussed.

As we reflect on the accomplishments of this program at the closing event, we remain committed to promoting gender equality and data literacy. We will continue to leverage the power of data to create a more just and equitable world for all.
