About the project

TANDANS Data Science Consulting takes on the role of a consultant for Rainforest Alliance – UTZ in conducting a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for Labor Contractors. The primary objective is to gain insights into potential indicators related to labor brokers’ attitudes toward the recruitment processes and the working conditions of migrant workers involved in hazelnut harvesting. The study aims to identify and address gaps between the current conditions and desired conditions, ultimately improving the labor recruitment and working conditions in the hazelnut harvesting sector.

TANDANS DSC has been contracted by Rainforest Alliance – UTZ as the consultant company to carry out a Training Needs Analysis for Labor Contractors to provide insights in the potential indicators regarding the labor brokers’ attitudes towards recruitment processes and conditions of migrant workers who take part in hazelnut harvesting and to determine and address needs, gaps between current conditions and desired conditions.

TNA study was held in 6 selected provinces as follows, Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Şanlıurfa, Diyarbakır, and Mardin. 4 FGDs were conducted with labor brokers and seasonal workers. Also, 50 Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) were conducted in selected provinces and related governmental bodies, and sector experts in Ankara.

TANDANS compiles their research findings into a comprehensive final report. This report serves as a valuable resource for Rainforest Alliance – UTZ.
