TANDANS DSC played a pivotal role in providing comprehensive training on Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning to two key entities within the Turkish Government: the Department of International Labour Force Policies and the Directorate General of Migration Management (DGMM).
Our approach was aligned with the aim of the FCO-funded project, which sought to enhance the capacity of DGMM and the Ministry of Labour in the principles of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). Our training program was meticulously designed to equip these government bodies with the knowledge and skills necessary for robust M&E practices.
We conducted a thorough Training Needs Assessment to identify specific knowledge gaps and requirements. Based on these findings, we developed a tailored agenda for training, focusing on critical areas such as designing quantitative and qualitative tools for data collection, sampling theory, statistical analysis, and effective reporting.
Designing Quantitative and Qualitative Tools for Data Collection: Our training covered the essential aspects of designing tools for collecting both quantitative and qualitative data. This included best practices in survey and questionnaire design, ensuring that the data collected would be reliable and relevant to the M&E objectives.
Sampling Theory: We provided in-depth training on sampling theory, a critical component of data collection. This ensured that participants had a strong grasp of how to select representative samples, a fundamental aspect of M&E in large-scale government programs.
Statistical Analysis and Reporting: Our training included comprehensive instruction on statistical analysis techniques and the principles of effective reporting. Participants were equipped with the skills needed to analyze data accurately and to communicate findings in a clear and actionable manner.
