About the project
TANDANS Data Science Consulting spearheaded a comprehensive study aimed at shedding light on the complex dynamics surrounding Child, Early, and Forced Marriage (CEFM) in Turkey. This project, conducted remotely due to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, is designed to fill critical information gaps and inform initiatives aimed at reducing CEFM.

The study focuses on generating reliable evidence regarding the drivers and enablers of CEFM, providing crucial insights into the factors contributing to this concerning phenomenon. A key aspect of the study involves delving into social norms that contribute to and shape knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to CEFM at the local level. This exploration is crucial for understanding the broader context surrounding CEFM in Turkey. The project addresses a critical information and analysis gap by bringing together qualitative data and policies, thus providing a comprehensive understanding of the context and current landscape of CEFM in Turkey.
TANDANS conducted an extensive desk review of qualitative data and policies, providing a solid foundation for understanding the existing knowledge about the context of CEFM in Turkey.
TANDANS took charge of the overall management and coordination of the research, ensuring a streamlined and effective execution of the study.
A crucial aspect of the project involved training the researchers to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge for qualitative data collection.
The study involved in-depth qualitative data collection through 54 In-Depth Interviews (IDIs), 30 Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and 54 Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). This comprehensive approach allowed for a nuanced understanding of knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and practices related to CEFM.
TANDANS carried out the coding and analysis of qualitative data, distilling valuable insights that form the basis for informed decision-making and future initiatives.
