The baseline study, with its meticulous approach and field-tested methodology, is instrumental in providing a clear understanding of the dynamics between refugees and host communities in South-East Turkey. The insights garnered from this study will not only inform the design and implementation of future programs but also contribute to evidence-based decision-making for organizations, policymakers, and stakeholders involved in fostering peaceful coexistence in the region.

TANDANS initiated the research process with a thorough feasibility study. This preliminary investigation provided a robust foundation for the subsequent baseline and evaluation reports. It involved assessing the practicality and viability of the study objectives, ensuring a sound methodology for data collection, and identifying potential challenges.

The primary focus of the baseline study was to gather essential data that serves as a reference point for future assessments. This encompassed understanding the current state of relationships, identifying challenges, and recognizing existing strengths in fostering peaceful coexistence.

Building upon the baseline data, TANDANS is poised to contribute to the subsequent evaluation reports. These reports will offer a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives and interventions aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence. Social cohesion between refugee and local communities, access to vulnerable members of both communities to social services, strengths and improvement areas of public institutions, and potential recommendations to boost the effectiveness of social cohesion activities are evaluated.
