The Advisory Board of the ‘Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality’ Project, implemented by UN Women with funding from the European Union, aims to bring together the partners and key stakeholders of the project to provide guidance on technical issues and strengthen dialogue and partnerships.
The “Strong Civic Space for Gender Equality” project aims to contribute to the advancement of women’s human rights and gender equality at national and local levels by supporting women’s rights organizations, women-led civil society organizations (CSOs) and other relevant CSOs to build their capacities. Through the project, UN Women aims to develop partnerships with civil society as implementing partners, learning stakeholders and advocates for gender equality and to increase civil society’s access to capacity building opportunities and resources.

Young women and men, students, women’s rights defenders, media workers, civil society organizations, government agencies and academia are among the key partners and stakeholders of the project.One of the governance mechanisms of the project is the Advisory Board, which will meet twice a year.
The Advisory Board will:
- Provide guidance on technical issues and support the implementation of the project,
- Contribute to the creation of multi-stakeholder dialogue environments, strengthening dialogue between public institutions and civil society organizations, mutual exchange of knowledge and experience,
- Create a taskforce between the project and other related projects and programs.
